What's in my makeup bag?!

Hey guys,

Iv'e bought so many new products to try recently and so thought instead of doing reviews I would do a whats in my makeup bag post as then I can show you all of the products I am currently using.

The majority of these things are going to be lipsticks as they are small enough to fit loads in and I don't bother carrying eyeshadows around with me as they are easy to break and I don't tend to need eyeshadow touch ups during the day.

I took these photos in categories starting from foundation to lip products. These are the products I am currently using for my face. My Maybelline dream fresh bb cream in light, is the only foundation type product I have ever got on with. As I am pale foundations are never light enough for me and I would end up taking them off as I felt orange in them. So for a long time I only wore powder on my face or nothing at all. I have always used the rimmel stay matte powder this is in shade 001 transparent. I have the maybelline fit me powder but don't think it is as good. I also have the fit me foundation in the lightest shade 115 which is ok for my face in the summer but not now in winter. I however am using the fit me concealer in 15 as it has decent coverage and actually matches my skin tone. Also in the picture is my bronzer which I've been using for ages and only just hit pan on, it is the rimmel sun shimmer bronzing compact powder in light matte. I only really use bronzer on my checks as I can never get blusher right I just think I look daft and end up taking it off lol.

Here are all the eye products that are currently in my bag apart from my white MUA eyeliner which was still at the bottom of my makeup bag when I photographed this. Starting on the left is the revlon Grow luscious plumping mascara which is my current favourite. Next is a rimmel black eyeliner then a silver rimmel eyeliner in front. Behind these are my pot of black gel eyeliner buy sleek called dominatrix plus my barry m gel eyeliner in no.3 I think its called Champaign which is a silvery gold colour which I love to wear especially as we get closer to christmas. Then I have a rimmel lose pigment in 012 velvet which is a dusky mauve colour which is pretty old and don't think is available anymore but I like to wear this in my crease. Then I have a eyeshadow brush a smudger and an eyelash curler

Next in my bag is a topshop lip liner in deception and then two of the new velvet lips in velveteen ribbon (red) and plush (purple) I'm not going to do swatches of the velvet lips as I am waiting to do a comparison post between these and the new MUA velvets.

Next is all my rimmel lip products. I have two of the apocalips, in apocoliptic (pink) and eclipse (red) I then have two of the Colour Rush in 200 keep mauving  and 220 rumour has it. Then finally one of the new moisture renew lipsticks in 380 dark night water l-oops!

Next I have my real techniques detailer brush and two bourjois paris lipsticks in 14 pretty prune and 20 fuchsia graffiti. I like these as I can tell what colour they are in my makeup bag from the bottom of the tube instead of having to open them.

Then finally with lipsticks I have my maybelline in 630 velvet beige, a revlon matte shade in 003 mauve it over and finally my only mac lipstick media.
Sorry about the focus of this photo but it shows swatches of all the lipsticks.Starting at the left is media which is out of focus, then mauve it over, velvet beige, fuchsia graffiti, pretty prune, dark night water l-oops!, apocaliptic which is a lot more pink/ fuchsia and not red at all irl. Then eclipse, rumour has it, keep mauving on then the topshop lin liner in deception.

Then the final things in my bag are my compact mirror and lipbalm from garnier

My makeup bag I think was £2.99 in the savers buy me and is a good shape to fit lots in yet not take up much room in my bag as I have a lot of stuff to carry in to uni daily and so is nice and compact.

Hope you enjoy I will have reviews of some of these products up soon. Which products do you want reviewed first?

Barry M matte and textured polish swatches.

Hey guys,

I said I would post swatches of the new barry M polishes that I bought and I finally swatched the last polishes. In the matte swatches I've done more of a simple nail design by doing half one colour then matte black on the other half. I thought that would be slightly more interesting than just plain old swatches!

Onto the swatches...

Barry M vanilla with black over the top.
Barry M crush with matte black. (sorry about my cuticles I always forget to clean them :P)

Barry M lady. Was actually nicer irl, it looks really gloopy and horrible in this picture I think as I smudged it a bit.

Barry M majesty. A lovely textured gold polish perfect for christmas/ the winter. The textured polishes were so hard to remove and it didn't help that I ran out of remover half way through so then had to pick bits of it off. (My hands look sore in this photo but I think thats as I had just removed Barry M berry cosmo which made my cuticles look a bit pink)

To be honest I still am not really a fan of the textured polish. Also I like these better than other ones I've seen I don't like the feel of the polish and it uses too much top coat to get a smooth surface (they just feel like grit stuck to the nail all be it shiny pretty grit, they may grow on me though). Also they are such a pain to remove. I much prefer the matte polishes, I love crush and the black but vanilla didn't really suit my skin tone.
Overall I have mixed feelings on these new polishes and would have preferred a few new gelly polish launches.

Hope you enjoyed.

Barry M Limited editions

Hey guys!

I am so excited about this post and I've waited a couple days so that I could show you all four limited editions in one post. I spotted the superdrug limited editions a couple days ago when I went in to get the new berry cosmo shade and crystal glaze. I fell in love with these mainly because I love a good glitter and because they have the foil  handles that last years fall bottles had (I have the pink sort of foil effect one) I especially love gold dust as it contains gold and rose gold strands perfect for the season. I then saw on facebook the boots limited editions and so went out and got them today (used some boots points so only ended up paying for one). I was wearing berry cosmo today which had chipped a bit as I was hand sewing at uni. So I painted half the nail using barry m lychee to show the glitters over a dark and a light colour.

Here come the swatches; On my thumb is two coats of crystal glaze, on my pointer is fairy lights (the superdrug pink glitter) on my middle is gold dust. Then on my ring finger is silver lights (boots silver glitter) and then tinsel town (boots multi strand glitter) on my pinkie. All the limited editions cost £3.99 as did crystal glaze.

Hope you enjoyed

Hey guys,

I popped into superdrug again today and picked up the new colour from the normal barry M range, berry cosmo. I've seen a lot of posts about this recently and have seen a lot of bloggers combining it with the new barry M crystalglaze. I wanted to just do a quick post showing of this new colour that is so perfect for autumn. It is the perfect berry colour and is a sort of damson purple colour. It applies evenly in two coats and I was impressed with the formula as I usually am with Barry M products.

Now time for the swatches, please excuse the state of my cuticles lol :P

Hope you will love this colour as much as I do.

New Barry M nail polish haul

Hey guys, I finally went and picked up a couple of the new barry M mattes and textured polishes. As I only just moved to uni it has taken me a while to find the superdrug as these polishes are only available there until they come to boots in the first week of october.

I got three mattes and three textured as some of the colours I did not really fancy and I didn't want to spend that much money. I got the matte ones in vanilla, a pale nude/ pink, espresso the black and crush the red/dark red depending on how many coats you apply. I haven't swatched theses yet but I will show swatches as and when I wear the polishes. I may combine them into outfit of the day posts so keep a look out :P.

The textured polishes I got where Lady, the white snow queen polish, Countess a browny purple colour with pink and gold glitter (which I have swatched) and Majesty the gold. I much prefer these textured polishes to the other ones barry m created. Although, I do not own any of the old ones I disliked the way they looked in swatches I had seen. I fell in love with the gold polish but haven't worn it yet as I mainly wear silver jewellery and do not feel the two would go well.

I love the golds that barry M make and this one is  the textured dupe of the gold foil polish which is one of my fave of all time polishes. I am currently wearing Countess and you can definitely feel the texture of the polish (almost sandpaper like) I tried to add a top coat but you need to apply a few coats to take away the texture.

I am really impressed with the textured polishes and the matte seem nice. I will review them all soon but I could not be bothered to go through taking of all the textured polishes today lol

Hope you enjoy,

Lauren :P

Hey, two posts on one day I'm on a role. I did this manicure a few weeks ago now and really loved it. It combined two of my new favourite Barry M gelly's Mango and Pasion fruit with Barry M black multi glitter over the top. This is so wearable and pretty I loved wearing this manicure.

Hope you enjoy

Mint glitter

Hey guys,

Back with another glitter experiment today using yet more of my recent purchases. I used a  base of NYC blue sky a minty bue green colour I've bought since my haul post. This is an amazing colour and I am loving NYC as they are even cheaper than Barry M and are a really good quality. Some are even one coaters such as full metal jacket. I painted a coat of Barry M rose quartz over the top. I love this glitter as it has larger circle glitter and finer glitter. Pictures below.

Eye nail art

Hey guys,

I've got some nail art for you today. I decided to do this sort of creepy design as I am obsessed with eyes and wanted to create a comic style design. First pics then a tutorial.

To create this design I started by painting a base colour of china glaze stone cold (part of last years hunger games collection) I like this polish as it dries matte and so creates a great contrasting finish. I next used a dotting tool to add white dots and then outlined this using a tooth pick dipped in black Barry M and then created a dot in the middle of the white and then in between the eyes.

I like this design but don't think it's one of my best

Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think and please like and subscribe.

Red Ruby glitter swatch

Hey guys,

Back again today with another swatch post. I decided to show you Barry M Ruby glitter over Barry M pomegranate. This created a lovely shiny sweet looking nail. Unfortunately my nails started breaking again. I had kept the ring finger nail glued on when it partially split but the lumps of glue under the nail were driving me crazy. So I decided just to cut it back and file the other nails down slightly as It took so long for me to be happy with my nails and they had stayed perfect for a while I hate to cut them all down to stubs. So my nails don't match again but at least some of them are long enough to do nail art on.  Anyway enough rambling heres the pictures.

Hope you enjoy,

Pink Glitter Gradient

Hey guys,

Just a quick update on yesterdays purchases, I created a Pink glitter gradient. The last glitter gradient I did was not a success as I used powder glitter to create it instead of polish. I am much happier with this gradient as it is a lot more subtle all be it very girly. This would be perfect for a wedding or a prom as it is quite simple but very pretty.

Unfortunately to show the glitter I had to play around with the image and so my skin looks a bit red but the colour of the nails is right although the images are a little to contrasted.

Hope you enjoy these nails, please comment and follow.

Todays Nail Polish Haul

Hey guys,
Ive never done a haul post before but I have mentioned in posts when I'd bought new polishes. Today I went a bit 3for2 crazy in superdrug as they are having a 3for2 on all nail varnishes. I picked up 12 new polishes for under £20. Bargin, I also try to maximise the money I save buy buying all the polish that cost the same amount together, this involves queuing up a couple times but you save more money as the cheapest product is always free.

To start I bought these NYC Foil explosion polishes at £1.99. The green is Magic Earth, the blue/silver is Aqua Mist, and the pink is Power of Elements. They had another pink and a bronzey peach but I didn't think these would suit my skin tone. I wanted these polishes as I have heard good reviews about them and thought they would be good for stamping which I want to get when I get paid lol.

I bought these other NYC colours for £1.79 and got, Manhattan the plumy damson colour, Full Metal Jacket the gold, and East Village the glittery blue.

I also bought these Barry M glitters as they are some of the only Barry M's that I don't own and as I dont have many glitters I wanted to have some. As you know I love Barry M and so can't pass up getting them on a 3for2 deal.

Hope you guys enjoy and also take advantage of the 3for2 I havent tried any of these yet but will keep you posted.

Hey guys,
Just a quick holiday themed post today, I know the holidays nearly over but I've only just done these. Pictures than a quick how to!

To do these I started with a white base coat and then using a toothpick I painted a blue, Barry M indigo, square at the top left of all my nails. I than used the toothpick to draw red lines down the nail and then added white dots over the blue when dry. Finish with top coat and your done :P

Hope you enjoy,

Silvery Lilac zigzags

Hey guys,
Today I decide to create another design using strips of tape as It worked really well with stripes last time, although smudged with topcoat. I suggest to recreate this design you paint your nails the chosen base colour the night before to ensure the nails are completely dry and the tape does not rip up the base colour when applied. I used a base of Barry M silvery lilac on most of my nails but silver foil effect on my ring finger. I let that dry then cut masking tape using pinking scissors and applied to the nail and then painted over using silver or silvery lilac. Now the pictures.

Hope you enjoy,

Peach and blue polka dots

Hey guys,
I've got a couple of posts for you today as I'm getting round to posting my latest nails.
The first is this peach and blue polka dot. I've been trying to use some of the polishes that I have but haven't worn yet, peach being one of them. Peach really isn't my colour and so I added the blue to break up the colour and create a cute design. Dots are so easy to do with a dotting tool and so Is one of my favourite things to do on my nails.

I created large dots in a zigzag down the middle of my nail and then added smaller dots in a line either side. This isn't my favourite design but I took it of soon after the pictures as I hated the way peach looked with my skin.

Hope you enjoy,
Lauren
