Collection Glam Crystals glitter liners

Hey guys,

I recently went into debenham's to look at the Urban decay makeup. I was really tempted to get the heavy metal glitter liners and the vice 2 palette (I got the palette from beautybay.com as it was 13% cheaper.) I didn't really want to spend £13 on one glitter liner so looked online to see what other brands do glitter liners. I then picked up 6 of the collection glam crystal liners in superdrug as they still have a 3 for 2 offer.

I got the colours in Le freak (aqua), Rock chick (Black/silver), Funk (gold), Hustle (silver), Dancing queen (red/pink), and Shake it up (purple).

My favourite was Le freak but when I took these swatches of I noticed that only this colour had stained my skin blue so I am a bit apprehensive about using it on my eyes. They were all super pigmented though yet Funk was a bit of a let down for me. The best is probably rock chic and I can already see myself wearing this on new years eve. I really like the names of the colours but it's annoying to blog about products with names that don't describe colour :P  I have no idea how they came up with Le freak for the aqua colour!

I definitely would recommend these as a cheaper alternative to the urban decay liners based on pigmentation but I will update you guys on how long they last in a latter post.

Hope you enjoyed

New Look statement jewellery

Hey guys,
Just wanted to share with you this jewellery from new look that I've been loving lately. I got these a couple weeks before halloween at the same time I got the dress I wore for halloween. I fell in love with these and have been wearing them a lot since. I love statement jewellery but this is a lot quirkier than other simpler pieces  I own. I wear a lot of black especially now that its winter and so these add much needed colour to my outfits. I love the little bees on these yet I still would have bought these pieces without them as just the black gems would also look nice. It  wasn't that expensive either, I think the earrings were £3.99 and the necklace was probably £7.99. I do tend to prefer silver jewellery but I couldn't not get these.

Sleek iDivine the original pallet review and swatches

Hey guys,

I've been on a real pallet buying frenzy at the moment and have got a lot more to show you coming soon. I really like sleek makeup and have owned the acid pallet for years. I also used to use their liquid eyeliner (which is my fav liquid liner) until I switched to using there gel liner when the liquid ran out. I've been wanting to get all the pallets for a while but decided to wait until superdrug was doing a 3 for 2 as it would save me a bit of money as sleek have gone up in price since I first bought the acid pallet.

Today I wanted to show you the original pallet as it is really good quality, super pigmented and cheap in comparison to buying single eyeshadows as you get twelve different shades for £7.99 which works out £0.66 ish per shadow. I also wanted to show you this one to start with as I've got 7 more sleek pallets to show you and felt I should start with the original :P

On with the swatches. (sorry about the quality I had to take these on my phone)

All the colours are super pigmented. Most are shimmer/ metallic apart from the black which is black which suits me fine as I'm not a massive fan of matte shades. This is without flash

Same as above but with flash. Some colours took more than one swipe to build up the colour such as the darkest blue and the purple but other than that most are the result of one swipe.
The pallet without flash. I love all the shades but my favourite are the two in the bottom right corner the gold and the olive green. All these colours are amazing for this season and could create really great daytime and party looks alike.

The pallet with flash. All colours come out true to how they look in the pallet and are such good value for money. I really recommend this pallet and the older sleek pallets as some of the latest releases such as the vintage romance pallet are not as well pigmented. Also the black shades are a lot more true black in the older releases as they are more charcoal in the newer pallets.

The closed front of this pallet with the sleek logo

The back of the packaging is good as it says the name of the pallet so you don't have to open all the pallets to find the one you were initially looking for.

My Halloween Costume

Hey guys.

Its taken me a few days to get round to posting my halloween costume. I was so pleased with the way it turned out I really wanted to share It with you. I went as a sugar skull so my costume was mainly makeup. Please let me know what you think and your halloween costumes in the comments.

I didn't want to use face paint as I was going to a club with my flat mates and knew that it would rub of during the night so I used my normal bb cream and just created the skeletal look over that. I used an orange (petals) and turquoise eyeshadow from a palette I got from amazon for £7. I then used a gel eyeliner from sleek to do all the black lines. I contoured my face with black eyeshadow and then went over it with a pink blush from the makeover essentials palette. I used two sets of false lashes, normal and feather ones that I picked up in the poundland halloween section.

My dress I got in new look for £12.99  It's the one bellow but I got it in black but I couldn't find that one on the website. You can get the one bellow here http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/burgundy-lattice-neck-skater-dress-_289975567?isRecent=true

I wore my Black patent dr martens and the floral crown I made myself. I also as did my nails as little sugar skulls, I even managed to do these on both my hands.

Hope you enjoyed :P

New Revlon Polishes

Hi guys,

Yes I've been buying again. I bought some revlon polishes as they have gotten good reviews and the bottles are very nice. I also thought i'd take advantage of them being £2 off in superdrug. They were £6.49 but at the moment they are £4.49. They are a bit more expensive than what I'd usually spend on polish but I fell in love with these colours and had to have them. I got (I think they are new releases) a gold/ silvery polish called rich, a dark purple called seductive, and a fuchsia glitter in black polish called scandalous.

Here come the swatches...

I tried to clean up my nails but the purple does stain a bit. The purple is my least favourite as it is very thin and takes about three coats to become opaque. I prefer the gold and the fuchsia glitter.

Hope you enjoy,

New clutch bag

Hey Guys,

I recently bought a new clutch as going out at uni I needed a small bag big enough to fit stuff like my phone keys and money in. I fell in love with this bag in new look as unlike most other bags on the market it has silver instead of gold embellishment which I prefer.

I also loved the faux snake skin leather look and quite a few of my bags have this at the moment. I also liked the delicate silver chain strap that unlike most my hair does not get caught up in. I think it cost £12.99 but don't remember I've had It a couple weeks now lol.

Hope you enjoy

Barry M matte and textured polish swatches.

Hey guys,

I said I would post swatches of the new barry M polishes that I bought and I finally swatched the last polishes. In the matte swatches I've done more of a simple nail design by doing half one colour then matte black on the other half. I thought that would be slightly more interesting than just plain old swatches!

Onto the swatches...

Barry M vanilla with black over the top.
Barry M crush with matte black. (sorry about my cuticles I always forget to clean them :P)

Barry M lady. Was actually nicer irl, it looks really gloopy and horrible in this picture I think as I smudged it a bit.

Barry M majesty. A lovely textured gold polish perfect for christmas/ the winter. The textured polishes were so hard to remove and it didn't help that I ran out of remover half way through so then had to pick bits of it off. (My hands look sore in this photo but I think thats as I had just removed Barry M berry cosmo which made my cuticles look a bit pink)

To be honest I still am not really a fan of the textured polish. Also I like these better than other ones I've seen I don't like the feel of the polish and it uses too much top coat to get a smooth surface (they just feel like grit stuck to the nail all be it shiny pretty grit, they may grow on me though). Also they are such a pain to remove. I much prefer the matte polishes, I love crush and the black but vanilla didn't really suit my skin tone.
Overall I have mixed feelings on these new polishes and would have preferred a few new gelly polish launches.

Hope you enjoyed.

New Barry M nail polish haul

Hey guys, I finally went and picked up a couple of the new barry M mattes and textured polishes. As I only just moved to uni it has taken me a while to find the superdrug as these polishes are only available there until they come to boots in the first week of october.

I got three mattes and three textured as some of the colours I did not really fancy and I didn't want to spend that much money. I got the matte ones in vanilla, a pale nude/ pink, espresso the black and crush the red/dark red depending on how many coats you apply. I haven't swatched theses yet but I will show swatches as and when I wear the polishes. I may combine them into outfit of the day posts so keep a look out :P.

The textured polishes I got where Lady, the white snow queen polish, Countess a browny purple colour with pink and gold glitter (which I have swatched) and Majesty the gold. I much prefer these textured polishes to the other ones barry m created. Although, I do not own any of the old ones I disliked the way they looked in swatches I had seen. I fell in love with the gold polish but haven't worn it yet as I mainly wear silver jewellery and do not feel the two would go well.

I love the golds that barry M make and this one is  the textured dupe of the gold foil polish which is one of my fave of all time polishes. I am currently wearing Countess and you can definitely feel the texture of the polish (almost sandpaper like) I tried to add a top coat but you need to apply a few coats to take away the texture.

I am really impressed with the textured polishes and the matte seem nice. I will review them all soon but I could not be bothered to go through taking of all the textured polishes today lol

Hope you enjoy,

Lauren :P

Hey again,

I just wanted to quickly share with you what I was wearing today.

I have been loving new look clothes at the moment and they are a good price on my student budget. I bought the top I was wearing for £19.99 (£17.99 with 10% student discount) and the long maxi skirt was £16.99 a while ago. I loved the colours in the top and thought it would help to brighten up my mostly black wardrobe without taking me too far out of my comfort zone.

Th necklace in this picture I wasn't actually wearing today but I picked it up in Primark for £4. In the pictures of me although it is hard to see I am wearing my ankh necklace from amazon.

I also dyed my hair blue/ turquoise! Hope you enjoy.

Hey, two posts on one day I'm on a role. I did this manicure a few weeks ago now and really loved it. It combined two of my new favourite Barry M gelly's Mango and Pasion fruit with Barry M black multi glitter over the top. This is so wearable and pretty I loved wearing this manicure.

DIY Comic book shoes

Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while as I haven't been bothered to edit my photos again, sorry. I've also decided to branch out the blog and post about the DIY projects I've been doing recently. I've seen a lot of comic book shoes people have made lately on instagram and pintrest and also on tickld and so really wanted to make my own. It is a super easy way to jazz up a pair of shoes and you don't have to use comics you could use any magazine. I do like marvel comics however and decided to make some spiderman shoes. I'll post pics first then explain how to create them although there are some great youtube tutorials if you are going to make these.

To create these I bought some plain black patent high heels from Barratts for £8 in a sale. I also bought the amazing spiderman 475 (34) from ebay. I then cut the comic book up and used PVA glue to stick create the shoes. (The youtube video's suggested to use modge podge but I had a thick pva glue which is sort of the same thing.) I love these shoes and they came out so much better than I imagined.

Hope you enjoy please comment and subscribe If you want to see more DIY posts
