Just a quick update on yesterdays purchases, I created a Pink glitter gradient. The last glitter gradient I did was not a success as I used powder glitter to create it instead of polish. I am much happier with this gradient as it is a lot more subtle all be it very girly. This would be perfect for a wedding or a prom as it is quite simple but very pretty.

Unfortunately to show the glitter I had to play around with the image and so my skin looks a bit red but the colour of the nails is right although the images are a little to contrasted.

Hey guys, Yesterday I attempted to do a glitter gradient as it was late and I was to tired for nail art. I really don't know if I like this as in general I'm not a massive fan of glitter in nail polish. It'd not bad for a first attempt but don't think I'll be trying this one again in a hurry.

To do this I started by painting my nails in Barry M jelly Plum, and then painted a layer of clear polish, any will do but I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails. I then using a paint brush applied gold glitter powder to the tip of my nail and tapped the brush over the rest of my nail so little flecks of the gold were seen in the purple as well. I then applied two coats of fast dry top coat.

Today, I've finally got a good result using the Croc effect by Barry M. This effect is so quick to do and spices up a normal manicure with minimum effort. Pictures first then the tutorial. 

To create this look I first painted my nails silver with Barry M foil effects, I then sponged the gold foil effect onto the tips of my nails to create a gradient. I then applied my Sally Hansen insta dri which dries in 30 seconds waited 10 seconds and applied the Croc effect. The thumb didn't work as well as the coverage wasn't as even as on the other nails. I am so pleased this effect wasn't the total waste of money I originally thought it was. Although 'Croc' is not how I would describe the outcome.

Hi, I've decided to use a simple technique that is very effective, sponging. There are lots of tutorials on youtube on how to do this but I like to keep my nail designs quite simple and some of the gradients were very bright! So I chose to do the sponging as detail over matte nails to create the effect of fluffy white clouds. This would also look great in a bubblegum pink to look like candy floss.
