Benefit Haul

Hey guys, I bought some things from benefit just before christmas and have had this post in my drafts for a long time I've just been to tired to blog recently and I wasn't going to force myself to do it. I bought two box blushes and sun beam. I can thoroughly review these now to as i've had them so long.

Here was the christmas packaging that they boxed the things up in.

Sun beam, I'm still not sure if this product works for me as I'm so pale but it is a lovely product and looks great with the Dallas blush I bought. The woman who worked at the benefit counter tried these on me and although it looked strange and she put way to much on, (she only put these products on my face when I had no other makeup on) I did like these the best in comparison to when she paired high beam and Hervana on the other side of my face (It was a weird experience).

I bought Dallas as I felt it worked as both a blush and a bronzer as it is a bronzy mauve type colour (hard to explain). I haven't used it that much as I've been using Hervana more as it is more of a spring colour. I am addicted to the smell of these blushes. They smell so good, in a musky powdery way which I suppose is apt seeing as they are powders.

Hervana is probably now my favourite product that I picked up. I have been getting into blush recently and this is a perfect shade for spring. I also like the way that it is made up of four different colours so you could customise your colour.

Weird things strangers say about my hair...

Hey guys,

I know I haven't posted in the longest time and I think in my last post I said I was going to be more consistent. This didn't work out as I have recently been struggling to be motivated to do anything. I'm finally on top of this and wanted to have a fun, sort of semi rant type post. I've never really blogged about my personal life before so here goes.

Ok, here goes. Since having dyed my hair turquoise strangers often have the urge to point this out to me, the most annoying being pointed at by people that just say "Your hair!". To be honest I just find this rude mainly due to the pointing it's like being made a spectacle of. You do also get the really cute small children pointing at you as well as they say "look mummy, she has green hair" which I just find sweet as they are innocent, unlike when adults do this.

The creepy incidents however are the ones that bother me. Lots of guys, see my hair as a talking point and have tried to hit on me because of it. Like today for incidence. I'm walking home with my shopping, probably red faced with no makeup on. When suddenly a guy out of nowhere approaches me exclaiming "I love your hair" me being one of the most socially awkward people, says "Thanks" which sounds strange and awkward anyway but is made even more embarrassing due to the fact I have a slight lisp. I then think to long about these things which leads to me writing them down.

The worst experience however was when I was again walking home with my shopping. A man maybe 10 years older then me wearing, looking pretty chavy approaches with the "oh wow your hair" speech. Then proceeds to follow me as I walk home asking if I have a boyfriend. Which I said in the hopes of making him leave me alone although I am single. Then asking if I wanted another one. Creepy right? Luckily he was only going to a bus stop and did not stalk me the whole way home. But If any guy is reading this don't do this it just comes of as creepy and makes me feel unsafe.

Anyway rant over. The majority of things people say about your hair if you do dye your own hair is very complimentary. But be warned you do get the couple weird experiences. It seems girls carrying home shopping is a massive turn on for some reason :)

Thanks for reading I plan to definitely get back into blogging soon.

TOO FACED joy to the girls

Hey guys,
I recently picked up this palette on sale in boots just after christmas and decided to spend a couple weeks messing around with it before I shared it with you guys. This is a limited edition so If you want it I would pick it up soon yet I think it's gone back up to full price in boots.

I really like the packaging. Yes It is very bulky with the usual chunky too faced book style packaging. This is my first too faced purchase and I was really impressed with this set. I looked to get the other limited edition I think it was called a few of my favourite things yet it was a debenhams exclusive and was unfortunately sold out.
I thought it was nice that they added some ideas for looks yet I don't think I will recreate any I just tend to play around with pallets experimenting until I find looks I really love to do.
The colours were stunning and even the matte shades were very impressive. On with the swatches, I did these in rows from left to right.
Here is Cookie dough, a matte light bronze brown, Cheers! a pink, champagne pearlescent shade, and prancer a metallic gold.
Next is sugar plum a purple glitter shade, then mulberry a matte mauve shade, then snow angel a matte white which is a great eyebrow highlight.
Next is powdered sugar the only dud in the pallet a pinky white shade that barely shows up on my skin. Then comes too-too a glittery pink with yule log a brown shadow with gold glitter.
Chestnut comes next which is a rich warm brown shade next to Twinkle my favourite colour in the palette, I wore this on new years and It stayed the whole night. Then a light blue shade, joy.
The last shades are spike the punch a peachy pink glittery shade with Chimney a smokey blue/ grey followed by coal the black.

This palette also comes with a full sized lashgasm mascara which has a small plastic wand. I like this mascara for a more natural look as it lengthens but doesn't add volume. Iv'e read lots of mixed reviews on this mascara with many preferring the new too faced better than sex mascara. Yet I am still pleased with this palette with the only downside being the powdered sugar shade.

This is no longer on the boots website yet still was In my local coventry boots yet I picked mine up when I was back in london at the westfield boots. It is still on the asos website http://www.asos.com/Too-Faced-Cosmetics/Too-Faced-Joy-To-The-Girls-Set/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3570607

Hope you enjoyed.

DKNY Delicious Night

Hey guys,
Just before christmas I was doing some last minute shopping in boots while also trying to use some of my boots coupons. I saw this as I was at the checkout as well as another perfume which I'll save for another post. This was marked down to £23.99 for 50ml and as there wasn't a tester I took a gamble on it as I'd read that it had notes of jasmine in it which is a note all the perfumes I tend to like have in common.

I've wanted a DKNY delicious perfume ever since the first adverts as I love the concept of the bottle and like the way the spritz works.

I'm so glad I took the chance on this as I love the scent. I also had a coupon for I think £5 of if I spent over £35 on perfume and a double points coupon. This along with my purchases from benefit (Post on these coming up) gave me £25 pounds worth of boots points.

On the boots website it says this perfume has notes of:
Top: Pomelo, Ginger, Blackberry
Mid: Orchid, Jasmine, Iris.
Base: Amber, Incense, Vetiver.

It has a very musky dry down which I love and often If I spray this a little bit before bed I can still smell the musk in the morning, so am convinced that this is very long lasting.

This has currently gone up to full price (£31.99) in boots yet I'm sure If you shop around you could find It at an even better price than I did. I would suggest amazon or fragrance direct.

Hope you enjoy. I'm going to try and do a proper upload schedule this year as I annoy myself with my posting procrastination. As I have about 10 draft posts at the moment that are just waiting for swatch pics :/

Christmas Drugstore Makeup Haul

Hey guys,

I know its been a while but I seem to get a blogging block when I'm not at uni. I just wanted to quickly share with you some of the things I bought in december.

Sleek face form Contouring and blush palette. This I've used a few times and really liked the blush but haven't really used the highlight or contour.

I got a few more sleek palettes when the 3 for 2 offer was still on in superdrug. I haven't used these yet as the colours are more spring/ summer appropriate. Also I've been in love with my vice 2 palette and haven't been using much else.

For Christmas I got a couple Z palettes to put my single shadows in. This one has all my MUA shades. I suggest getting the domed Z palette rather than just the large as I was given both and only 10/15 of the mua pans fit in the large and they all fit into the domed palette

I bought 3 of the maybelline limited edition Brocades collection in boots. These went on nicely yet as they took a lot of coats to become opaque they just seemed to peal of. I wore Woven Skyline the gray on new years eve and I lost two of the nails on the way to the party I was going to. It just seemed to ping of. Disappointing.

I bought a couple more of the Rimmel Scandaleyes liners, in bright blue, nude and taupe as I had the silver and really liked it I thought I would give these a go. I've worn the nude on my waterline a couple times and it didn't smudge.
I bought this by accident thinking I was repurchasing my usual Sun shimmer light matte bronzer. I accidentally picked up the light shimmer instead. I didn't really mind as I still have a lot of the matte one left as I was only buying it as it was on offer. I will give this a go but I tend not to like glitters face products.

I wanted to try this as the advert made this look really good. I like this but think a gold eyeliner would be better value for money as what you see in the lid is all the product you get. It is a really lovely gold but for £5.99 you could get a good gold eyeliner that has more product.

Iv'e also been wanting to try the color tatoo's for ages and bought these four to try our. I've used the pomegranate and the gold so far and really liked using them. The gold is a really great base for building a intense gold eye on top.

There was a 3 for 2 on maybelline so I picked up this pen style liquid liner. I love this as it is so easy to create a really fine line or a statement liner look with this. I've been using this more then my gel liner as it is a lot quicker to apply and I don't need to clean the brush immediately after doing my liner. Perfect for lazy makeup days.

Boots were giving this mascara free when you bought 2 things from collection. I kept this but the things I bought from collection were gifts. This tbh isn't a bad mascara If you want a more natural look as It gives length but not volume.

I will go back and do separate reviews of some of these products with swatches. But this is just a overview.
I hope you liked :P

Urban decay Vice 2

Hey guys

Iv'e been playing around with the Vice 2 palette for a week now so that I could do a review as well as swatches. This is the first Urban Decay palette I have purchased and did a lot of research (watching youtube videos) and shopping around before I finally went ahead and committed to buying it. I wanted to get this pallet as the colours are perfect for this season but most shades I would wear all year round. I was really impressed with the palette overall. But was disappointed that it only came with a brush (which is ok for blending but not for actually putting makeup on) and not with a primer potion or a eyeliner as most other urban decay palettes do.

On with the pictures...

All the shades are incredibly beautiful with the majority being shimmers instead of mattes. I would expect more mattes if this wasn't a christmas palette but as it is I like that there are only two true matte shades.
The amount of different blacks in this palette was slightly annoying as I would have preferred any other shade as I don't feel urban decay does black shades that well. I liked smokeout the best of all the blacks as it has a red glitter (this is the first colour on the left in the pic above) Lovesick is an average black glitter shade that is more gray then black when swatched. Next in the picture is Shellshock which is the most amazing silver shadow I have ever owned. I've been using this on the inner corner of my eyes a lot since I got this, I love this shade. Then comes the light pinks, coax and x-rated, that are ok yet I don't tend to use pink shadows so these I will probably use the least.
The next row down in the palette has these colours. Starting with prank, which I'm so glad looks good in the swatch, is a dark blue with teal glitter which is so beautiful but most swatches I saw of this just looked like another black shade. Next comes madness a shimmery blue I like this colour but it comes out a lot lighter than it looks in the pan but is a lovely shade none the less. Next is strike an amazing gold shadow, its not as pigmented as shellshock but I love it all the same and have been wearing a lot of gold eye looks recently. Stash comes next which is a darker golden/ olive colour which is one of my favourite shades in the palette. Poison is another black/ charcoal shade which is nice for creating a smokey look.

The first shade here is the golden brown radar which I teamed with stash the other day which looked so pretty. Next is Damaged a metallic deep green which is my favourite as it is so buttery and easy to blend without losing its pigmentation. Then comes the two purples Voodoo the darker next to betrayal. The last shade in the row is Derailed which I have on while writing this.

In the last row Is Dope a shimmery nude pink which is nice as a brow bone highlight (wearing this today also) Next is Toxic a rose gold colour that I think is perfect for christmas and I will probably be wearing this on christmas day (which is also my birthday). After this comes Habit which I have used as a base shadow colour each time I use this palette I put this colour all over my lid, as its a matte shade, before I start adding the other colours. Next comes Ambush a golden brown shade perfect for adding drama to a more natural look. Then last comes Rewind a matte brown shade that I've been using to slightly define my brows.

Overall I am really impressed with this palette. I feel it is definitely worth the price as I picked this up on beautybay.com for £36 instead of the normal £42 (its currently 15% of on debenhams website I think)  but even at full price if you do the math it works out as £2.10 for each individual shade which is a lot less than you would pay for some drug store shadows. I really recommend getting this sooner rather than later if you intend to buy this as it is limited edition.

Mua Smoking Palette review and swatches

Hey guys
I bought this a couple weeks ago when superdrug were doing the 3 for 2 I think this was £6. I think this is meant to be a dupe for the Urban decay smoked palette which I have just ordered from debenhams. These pictures have been saved in a draft post for a couple weeks and in clicking into the draft to write this my first thought was that it has the same colours as the urban decay I've just ordered so there may be a subsequent comparison post (It hasn't arrived yet otherwise I would).

This like the urban decay comes with a eye liner which I was really impressed with as it was a very true black and in no way gray.

The colours apart from the two really light mattes were really well pigmented and so I'm kind of regretting ordering the urban decay as I completely forgot about this palette. At least I got 15% of the smoked palette and that it also comes with a primer potion.

MUA undressed palette review and swatches

Hey guys,
As I said in one of my latest posts I've been on a real palette buying kick recently. I picked up this palette and a couple other products to get the 3 for 2 offer that superdrug, and boots, are doing at the moment. I really wanted to try an MUA palette as I have a few of the singles (I will go into these in a separate post) and wanted to see if the palettes were as good. I'm not a big fan of neutral makeup and like to experiment with makeup, so I wasn't that excited about this. I however have been loving gold and copper shadows so was looking forward to trying out those shades.

I was glad that the majority of these weren't matte finishes as I do prefer shimmery shadows. I loved the golds and coppers and was surprised to fall for the pink rose gold shade which is the bottom shade in the picture above.

The pigmentation of the shimmers was really great yet the mattes let this palette down as they lack pigmentation.

The packaging isn't the best and the brushes that come with these sort of palettes I always just throw away. It is nice that you can see the colours through the clear top of the palette. Overall it feels a bit cheap but for only £4 this is a steal and I would definitely recommend to any neutral shimmery eyeshadow lover. I think the single shadows(£1) are of a much better quality but the palettes do work out cheaper as each shadow in them works out to  34p each.

H&M jewellery

Hey Guys,

I recently picked up a couple bits of jewellery in H&M. I don't often shop in their as I find the stores crowded, cramped and dark. The only h&m store I actually like to shop in is the one at west-fields in london as they actually have some lights on in the store. I don't understand clothing shops that have really low lighting and so barely shop in them (it's the same with topshop, they always just seem dark, or I'm crazy) I much rather shopping in new look as the it is well lit and I can actually see what I'm buying. Anyways ramble over on with the purchases.

I had seen this when I went into h&m earlier this year I think in june maybe and really wanted it at the time yet didn't have the money at the time. So I had to pick this up when I saw it again. It's a lot simpler than most of the resent jewellery I have bought but still is a very statement bold necklace.

The second and last thing I dot was this ear cuff. It's actually upside down in the picture but I really liked this and thought it was a really edgy piece. I just loved the shape of this. Yet it does start hurting my ear after a while

Me wearing the earring.
