Urban decay Vice 2

Hey guys

Iv'e been playing around with the Vice 2 palette for a week now so that I could do a review as well as swatches. This is the first Urban Decay palette I have purchased and did a lot of research (watching youtube videos) and shopping around before I finally went ahead and committed to buying it. I wanted to get this pallet as the colours are perfect for this season but most shades I would wear all year round. I was really impressed with the palette overall. But was disappointed that it only came with a brush (which is ok for blending but not for actually putting makeup on) and not with a primer potion or a eyeliner as most other urban decay palettes do.

On with the pictures...

All the shades are incredibly beautiful with the majority being shimmers instead of mattes. I would expect more mattes if this wasn't a christmas palette but as it is I like that there are only two true matte shades.
The amount of different blacks in this palette was slightly annoying as I would have preferred any other shade as I don't feel urban decay does black shades that well. I liked smokeout the best of all the blacks as it has a red glitter (this is the first colour on the left in the pic above) Lovesick is an average black glitter shade that is more gray then black when swatched. Next in the picture is Shellshock which is the most amazing silver shadow I have ever owned. I've been using this on the inner corner of my eyes a lot since I got this, I love this shade. Then comes the light pinks, coax and x-rated, that are ok yet I don't tend to use pink shadows so these I will probably use the least.
The next row down in the palette has these colours. Starting with prank, which I'm so glad looks good in the swatch, is a dark blue with teal glitter which is so beautiful but most swatches I saw of this just looked like another black shade. Next comes madness a shimmery blue I like this colour but it comes out a lot lighter than it looks in the pan but is a lovely shade none the less. Next is strike an amazing gold shadow, its not as pigmented as shellshock but I love it all the same and have been wearing a lot of gold eye looks recently. Stash comes next which is a darker golden/ olive colour which is one of my favourite shades in the palette. Poison is another black/ charcoal shade which is nice for creating a smokey look.

The first shade here is the golden brown radar which I teamed with stash the other day which looked so pretty. Next is Damaged a metallic deep green which is my favourite as it is so buttery and easy to blend without losing its pigmentation. Then comes the two purples Voodoo the darker next to betrayal. The last shade in the row is Derailed which I have on while writing this.

In the last row Is Dope a shimmery nude pink which is nice as a brow bone highlight (wearing this today also) Next is Toxic a rose gold colour that I think is perfect for christmas and I will probably be wearing this on christmas day (which is also my birthday). After this comes Habit which I have used as a base shadow colour each time I use this palette I put this colour all over my lid, as its a matte shade, before I start adding the other colours. Next comes Ambush a golden brown shade perfect for adding drama to a more natural look. Then last comes Rewind a matte brown shade that I've been using to slightly define my brows.

Overall I am really impressed with this palette. I feel it is definitely worth the price as I picked this up on beautybay.com for £36 instead of the normal £42 (its currently 15% of on debenhams website I think)  but even at full price if you do the math it works out as £2.10 for each individual shade which is a lot less than you would pay for some drug store shadows. I really recommend getting this sooner rather than later if you intend to buy this as it is limited edition.

Mua Smoking Palette review and swatches

Hey guys
I bought this a couple weeks ago when superdrug were doing the 3 for 2 I think this was £6. I think this is meant to be a dupe for the Urban decay smoked palette which I have just ordered from debenhams. These pictures have been saved in a draft post for a couple weeks and in clicking into the draft to write this my first thought was that it has the same colours as the urban decay I've just ordered so there may be a subsequent comparison post (It hasn't arrived yet otherwise I would).

This like the urban decay comes with a eye liner which I was really impressed with as it was a very true black and in no way gray.

The colours apart from the two really light mattes were really well pigmented and so I'm kind of regretting ordering the urban decay as I completely forgot about this palette. At least I got 15% of the smoked palette and that it also comes with a primer potion.

MUA undressed palette review and swatches

Hey guys,
As I said in one of my latest posts I've been on a real palette buying kick recently. I picked up this palette and a couple other products to get the 3 for 2 offer that superdrug, and boots, are doing at the moment. I really wanted to try an MUA palette as I have a few of the singles (I will go into these in a separate post) and wanted to see if the palettes were as good. I'm not a big fan of neutral makeup and like to experiment with makeup, so I wasn't that excited about this. I however have been loving gold and copper shadows so was looking forward to trying out those shades.

I was glad that the majority of these weren't matte finishes as I do prefer shimmery shadows. I loved the golds and coppers and was surprised to fall for the pink rose gold shade which is the bottom shade in the picture above.

The pigmentation of the shimmers was really great yet the mattes let this palette down as they lack pigmentation.

The packaging isn't the best and the brushes that come with these sort of palettes I always just throw away. It is nice that you can see the colours through the clear top of the palette. Overall it feels a bit cheap but for only £4 this is a steal and I would definitely recommend to any neutral shimmery eyeshadow lover. I think the single shadows(£1) are of a much better quality but the palettes do work out cheaper as each shadow in them works out to  34p each.

H&M jewellery

Hey Guys,

I recently picked up a couple bits of jewellery in H&M. I don't often shop in their as I find the stores crowded, cramped and dark. The only h&m store I actually like to shop in is the one at west-fields in london as they actually have some lights on in the store. I don't understand clothing shops that have really low lighting and so barely shop in them (it's the same with topshop, they always just seem dark, or I'm crazy) I much rather shopping in new look as the it is well lit and I can actually see what I'm buying. Anyways ramble over on with the purchases.

I had seen this when I went into h&m earlier this year I think in june maybe and really wanted it at the time yet didn't have the money at the time. So I had to pick this up when I saw it again. It's a lot simpler than most of the resent jewellery I have bought but still is a very statement bold necklace.

The second and last thing I dot was this ear cuff. It's actually upside down in the picture but I really liked this and thought it was a really edgy piece. I just loved the shape of this. Yet it does start hurting my ear after a while

Technic electric beauty pallet review and swatches

Hey guys,

I recently picked up this technic eyeshadow palette in a budget beauty shop near me. I had heard of this brand before but I had never bought any of their products. I got this for £1.99. They were also selling another pallet that kind of reminded me of the sunset palette from sleek, but I didn't fancy the colours in that one so only picked up this one.

The palette is basically the same packaging as all the sleek palettes.

I was really surprised with how pigmented this turned out to be. All of these swatches were done with one swipe of the colour. I am in love with the olive green shade but haven't worn it on my eyes yet. I don't think it will go with my blue hair :P. I can't believe the colours are so good for something that was £1.99 it works out at about 17p per eyeshadow! If you see this product I would definitely recommend picking it up.

Collection Glam Crystals glitter liners

Hey guys,

I recently went into debenham's to look at the Urban decay makeup. I was really tempted to get the heavy metal glitter liners and the vice 2 palette (I got the palette from beautybay.com as it was 13% cheaper.) I didn't really want to spend £13 on one glitter liner so looked online to see what other brands do glitter liners. I then picked up 6 of the collection glam crystal liners in superdrug as they still have a 3 for 2 offer.

I got the colours in Le freak (aqua), Rock chick (Black/silver), Funk (gold), Hustle (silver), Dancing queen (red/pink), and Shake it up (purple).

My favourite was Le freak but when I took these swatches of I noticed that only this colour had stained my skin blue so I am a bit apprehensive about using it on my eyes. They were all super pigmented though yet Funk was a bit of a let down for me. The best is probably rock chic and I can already see myself wearing this on new years eve. I really like the names of the colours but it's annoying to blog about products with names that don't describe colour :P  I have no idea how they came up with Le freak for the aqua colour!

I definitely would recommend these as a cheaper alternative to the urban decay liners based on pigmentation but I will update you guys on how long they last in a latter post.

Paco Rabanne Black XS

Hey guys,
I decided as I was buying fragrance gifts for christmas to shop around to see where I could get this perfume cheapest. I've wanted this perfume for years was torn between getting this or calvin klein euphoria last christmas. I eventually went for euphoria as I do prefer that scent to this.

I  found black xs cheapest on amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Paco-Rabanne-Black-Toilette-80ml/dp/B001KOTRAY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385218777&sr=8-1&keywords=black+xs) and got the 80ml as it was cheaper than buying the 50ml for some reason I got it for £31 with my amazon 5% student discount (nus extra). I treated myself to this as an early christmas/ birthday present (I'm born on christmas) as I like to get a high end perfume at this time of year.

This perfume is described as 'Paco Rabanne Black XS is classified as Floral Woody Musk fragrance. Black XS for her is a fragrance for a rebel princess with a mysterious, rebellious and sensual feel. The floral fruity fragrance begins with bold and sparkling top note with cranberry and pink pepper berries. The heart of the fragrance is charming, feminine black violet, cocoa flower and rose with a passionate base note of black vanilla, massoia wood and patchouli. Paco Rabanne Black XS fragrance composition is a creation of Emilie (Bevierre) Coppermann, Mark Buxton, Symrise. The bottle is a design by Jerome Falliant Dumas.'

I love strong musky scents and this was right up my street.

Iv'e wanted this ever since I smelt it over a year ago and am so glad I finally have it in my collection.

New Look statement jewellery

Hey guys,
Just wanted to share with you this jewellery from new look that I've been loving lately. I got these a couple weeks before halloween at the same time I got the dress I wore for halloween. I fell in love with these and have been wearing them a lot since. I love statement jewellery but this is a lot quirkier than other simpler pieces  I own. I wear a lot of black especially now that its winter and so these add much needed colour to my outfits. I love the little bees on these yet I still would have bought these pieces without them as just the black gems would also look nice. It  wasn't that expensive either, I think the earrings were £3.99 and the necklace was probably £7.99. I do tend to prefer silver jewellery but I couldn't not get these.

What's in my makeup bag?!

Hey guys,

Iv'e bought so many new products to try recently and so thought instead of doing reviews I would do a whats in my makeup bag post as then I can show you all of the products I am currently using.

The majority of these things are going to be lipsticks as they are small enough to fit loads in and I don't bother carrying eyeshadows around with me as they are easy to break and I don't tend to need eyeshadow touch ups during the day.

I took these photos in categories starting from foundation to lip products. These are the products I am currently using for my face. My Maybelline dream fresh bb cream in light, is the only foundation type product I have ever got on with. As I am pale foundations are never light enough for me and I would end up taking them off as I felt orange in them. So for a long time I only wore powder on my face or nothing at all. I have always used the rimmel stay matte powder this is in shade 001 transparent. I have the maybelline fit me powder but don't think it is as good. I also have the fit me foundation in the lightest shade 115 which is ok for my face in the summer but not now in winter. I however am using the fit me concealer in 15 as it has decent coverage and actually matches my skin tone. Also in the picture is my bronzer which I've been using for ages and only just hit pan on, it is the rimmel sun shimmer bronzing compact powder in light matte. I only really use bronzer on my checks as I can never get blusher right I just think I look daft and end up taking it off lol.

Here are all the eye products that are currently in my bag apart from my white MUA eyeliner which was still at the bottom of my makeup bag when I photographed this. Starting on the left is the revlon Grow luscious plumping mascara which is my current favourite. Next is a rimmel black eyeliner then a silver rimmel eyeliner in front. Behind these are my pot of black gel eyeliner buy sleek called dominatrix plus my barry m gel eyeliner in no.3 I think its called Champaign which is a silvery gold colour which I love to wear especially as we get closer to christmas. Then I have a rimmel lose pigment in 012 velvet which is a dusky mauve colour which is pretty old and don't think is available anymore but I like to wear this in my crease. Then I have a eyeshadow brush a smudger and an eyelash curler

Next in my bag is a topshop lip liner in deception and then two of the new velvet lips in velveteen ribbon (red) and plush (purple) I'm not going to do swatches of the velvet lips as I am waiting to do a comparison post between these and the new MUA velvets.

Next is all my rimmel lip products. I have two of the apocalips, in apocoliptic (pink) and eclipse (red) I then have two of the Colour Rush in 200 keep mauving  and 220 rumour has it. Then finally one of the new moisture renew lipsticks in 380 dark night water l-oops!

Next I have my real techniques detailer brush and two bourjois paris lipsticks in 14 pretty prune and 20 fuchsia graffiti. I like these as I can tell what colour they are in my makeup bag from the bottom of the tube instead of having to open them.

Then finally with lipsticks I have my maybelline in 630 velvet beige, a revlon matte shade in 003 mauve it over and finally my only mac lipstick media.
Sorry about the focus of this photo but it shows swatches of all the lipsticks.Starting at the left is media which is out of focus, then mauve it over, velvet beige, fuchsia graffiti, pretty prune, dark night water l-oops!, apocaliptic which is a lot more pink/ fuchsia and not red at all irl. Then eclipse, rumour has it, keep mauving on then the topshop lin liner in deception.

Then the final things in my bag are my compact mirror and lipbalm from garnier

My makeup bag I think was £2.99 in the savers buy me and is a good shape to fit lots in yet not take up much room in my bag as I have a lot of stuff to carry in to uni daily and so is nice and compact.

Hope you enjoy I will have reviews of some of these products up soon. Which products do you want reviewed first?

Sleek iDivine the original pallet review and swatches

Hey guys,

I've been on a real pallet buying frenzy at the moment and have got a lot more to show you coming soon. I really like sleek makeup and have owned the acid pallet for years. I also used to use their liquid eyeliner (which is my fav liquid liner) until I switched to using there gel liner when the liquid ran out. I've been wanting to get all the pallets for a while but decided to wait until superdrug was doing a 3 for 2 as it would save me a bit of money as sleek have gone up in price since I first bought the acid pallet.

Today I wanted to show you the original pallet as it is really good quality, super pigmented and cheap in comparison to buying single eyeshadows as you get twelve different shades for £7.99 which works out £0.66 ish per shadow. I also wanted to show you this one to start with as I've got 7 more sleek pallets to show you and felt I should start with the original :P

On with the swatches. (sorry about the quality I had to take these on my phone)

All the colours are super pigmented. Most are shimmer/ metallic apart from the black which is black which suits me fine as I'm not a massive fan of matte shades. This is without flash

Same as above but with flash. Some colours took more than one swipe to build up the colour such as the darkest blue and the purple but other than that most are the result of one swipe.
The pallet without flash. I love all the shades but my favourite are the two in the bottom right corner the gold and the olive green. All these colours are amazing for this season and could create really great daytime and party looks alike.

The pallet with flash. All colours come out true to how they look in the pallet and are such good value for money. I really recommend this pallet and the older sleek pallets as some of the latest releases such as the vintage romance pallet are not as well pigmented. Also the black shades are a lot more true black in the older releases as they are more charcoal in the newer pallets.

The closed front of this pallet with the sleek logo

The back of the packaging is good as it says the name of the pallet so you don't have to open all the pallets to find the one you were initially looking for.

Just another bodyshop haul

Ok, so I've been a bit addicted to the body shop at the moment. I know that apart from my halloween post the last thing I posted was body shop stuff but I just can't get enough. I only to be honest bought as much as I have as Glamour magazine were giving away money of vouchers in the current december issue. I naturally bought four magazines as they were also giving away four different nails inc. polishes that I just had to have as they are I think limited edition kate spade colours, I had to hunt around for all the colours so didn't get all the magazines at once and so used the vouchers as I bought each colour one at a time lol (I will do a separate post on these at some point but photographing is difficult for me at the moment as the auto focus on my dslr is broken). I got 3 £3 vouchers and a £15 pound voucher so naturally I had to get a few things.

Glamour magazine (sorry about the focus lol)

Cranberry joy body butter, I got this and ginger sparkle body butter on a 2 for £16 pound offer so they were £8 each a bit prices but they both smelled lovely and they have put me in a rather christmasy mood and are just what my skin needs as it is getting colder. I much prefer these scents to the sweet lemon body butter and they are also a nicer creamier texture as the lemon is a bit waxy.

Ginger sparkle body butter with the cute ginger bread man on the pot. I prefer the smell of the cranberry but this is  lot more christmassy in smell which I love.
I also got a couple more perfumes. I got white musk libertine eau de parfum which was £13 but I used a £3 voucher so only paid £10 I like the smell but I think I may be allergic to it as It made my wrist very itchy after I had put it on, I'll have to see how it goes but my mum may be getting an extra christmas present :P.

I also picked up the amazonian wild lily perfume oil which I mentioned in my previous post that I had been wanting this one. The scent is very strong and either doesn't last long or I get used to the smell and stop noticing it. Yet it does definitely smell like lilies.

I also got the Japanese cherry blossom perfume oil, this is less strong and a lot more delicate smelling. (sorry if my descriptions don't help I just know that I like the smell not how to describe it :P) I bought both the perfume oils (£7 each) and lip balm (£2) using my £15 voucher and had to pay a £1 as well.
The lip balm I got in passion berry and replaces an old one of these that I found packing for uni that I was scared to start using again as it was probably about 7 years old yuck.

The last perfume I got was the Moringa eau de toilette which I think is a new scent I got this one yesterday using my last £3 voucher and had to pay £5.50 as it cost £8.50. This I've worn all day and am absolutely in love with and thing I'll ask for the body butter in this scent for christmas as I love this so much.

I also used another of my £3 vouchers to get this plum lip balm which I'm loving as it does add a bit of colour and shine to my lips and I like to use this on low maintenance make-up days when I've stayed a bit to long in bed in the morning, this has been living in my bag.

Hope you guys enjoy, I will hopefully have a couple more hauls and reviews up over the next week but I'm coming close to a uni deadline so might have to wait till I'm on christmas holidays.

What do you guys think of my new layout? Please leave me a comment :D
