Hey again,
Recently I have really got into wearing lipstick and makeup in general. I have in the past been really terrible at applying makeup and went through awkward stages of eye makeup. I was quite into rock and so went through the whole two much eyeliner during my teens. Also I used to love this dark purple and lilac combo that would have been alright if I hadn't been about twelve and knew how to blend. Up until this year I would only maybe use a bit of powder during the day and use eyeshadow and lipstick when going out at night. I still most of the time forget to use mascara as I find applying it annoying and always manage to get some in my hair/ fringe. But I think I am somewhat better at it now. As they say practice makes perfect.
I have always found it really hard to find a foundation to suit my skin. The first foundation I bought was the Maybelline dream matte mouse which was god awful. I was quit young so probably bought the wrong shade as I tested it on my hand and not my face. Yet if I bothered to use it, I would always take it of as it made me orange, and as a goth kid that was not the desired look :P. I recently have been using the Maybelline dream fresh bb as it is light and provides the right amount of cover my skin needs. I had also been using the fit me foundation also by Maybelline but I'm not sure if I like it anymore (I have the powder an concealer as well and these are both good).
I'm not a big fan of blush and currently don't own any but if I fancy wearing some I mix lipstick with my bb cream to create a liquid blush. I much prefer bronzer and use it to contour my face, I currently use the Rimmel sun shimmer light matte bronzer.
I am really into lipstick at the moment and splurged a couple weeks ago on a MAC lipstick (media, its a satin finish) which I love. This is a very sultry, sexy colour and is my perfect red lip.

Hey guys, I finally went and picked up a couple of the new barry M mattes and textured polishes. As I only just moved to uni it has taken me a while to find the superdrug as these polishes are only available there until they come to boots in the first week of october.
I got three mattes and three textured as some of the colours I did not really fancy and I didn't want to spend that much money. I got the matte ones in vanilla, a pale nude/ pink, espresso the black and crush the red/dark red depending on how many coats you apply. I haven't swatched theses yet but I will show swatches as and when I wear the polishes. I may combine them into outfit of the day posts so keep a look out :P.
I love the golds that barry M make and this one is the textured dupe of the gold foil polish which is one of my fave of all time polishes. I am currently wearing Countess and you can definitely feel the texture of the polish (almost sandpaper like) I tried to add a top coat but you need to apply a few coats to take away the texture.
I am really impressed with the textured polishes and the matte seem nice. I will review them all soon but I could not be bothered to go through taking of all the textured polishes today lol
Hope you enjoy,

Hey again last post of the evening. A while ago I made these items and I wanted to share them with you. I had found a book of old maps and decided to create some unique storage and desk tidy's out of them. First the pictures then I'll explain how I created them.
To create this I covered toilet roll holders in the map print. I cut the rolls down to the size I wanted and then pva glued the map paper on and then used a clear plastic circle to the bottom. |
This was made in the same way as the last although this one has a map print base and I use it to store my makeup. |
I also covered jar lids in map print making them a lot nicer to look at while still storing my stuff. |
I also covered an old leather box in map print to create this make-up case where I keep my nail varnishes |

Hey again,
I just wanted to quickly share with you what I was wearing today.
I have been loving new look clothes at the moment and they are a good price on my student budget. I bought the top I was wearing for £19.99 (£17.99 with 10% student discount) and the long maxi skirt was £16.99 a while ago. I loved the colours in the top and thought it would help to brighten up my mostly black wardrobe without taking me too far out of my comfort zone.

Hey again,
I know I've not posted in a while, I've been busy moving to uni. I have now started my fashion course at coventry university. I started this week and so wanted to finally get back into blogging.
I have decided to switch things up a bit and post more about myself my work and things that I wear and that inspire me. I want to do this blog more as a documentation of my life as opposed to just being about nail art (which I am not that interested in at the moment). I also plan to do a lot more DIY posts as they are something I really enjoy and I still need to post some of the projects I have already completed.
Bye for now,
Lauren :P
